Most nursing homes offer both convalescent and post-operative care to enable people
to recover from surgery or illness with medical assistance on hand whenever required.
Residential homes, not having medical staff on call, may offer this type of care
based on assessment but will usually offer only convalescent care.
Additional costs may be incurred for short stay care home visits.
