This branch of Wakefield Homecare Service is housed in the old staff house adjacent to Waterton Road Resource Centre. The branch provides support to service users living within the geographical areas of Lupset, Woolley, Flockton, Netherton, Middlestown, Horbury, Ossett, Gawthorpe, Thornes Park and Denby Dale.

Office accommodation includes a dedicated training room for NVQ, office accommodation for the manager and supervisors and meeting room. The office has a full range of modern equipment including computers, photocopiers, fax, and dedicated telephones providing email and internet access. There are satisfactory and secure arrangements for the safekeeping of records. There is an intercom and camera to the front door to offer further protection. The premises are open to staff from 7am until 11pm. Emergency contact can be made at night to the Social Care Direct Helpline telephone number. A supervisor for the Wakefield Homecare Service is available 24 hours a day.

Prospective and existing service users are provided with a Service User Guide which details what services are and are not provided, contact numbers and information relating to the running of the business. At the time of writing this report, fees were established on an individual basis, and were dependent on the assessed needs and an individual’s financial position.
