The aim of the service is to provide a non-medical Visiting Nurse Service for those who 'radically rely on Christian Science for spiritual healing and who can be given proper care in their own homes'. The service is available on a short or long term basis and can also provide a 24 hour service in an emergency. Visits are based on need and can vary from 3 times week to once a fortnight. The service provides a range of support, which can include elements of personal care such as assistance with dressings to reading and prayer. The area of the service includes Bath, Bristol and general south west of England.

The objectives of the service are:
* To promote and support Christian Science healing.
* To provide good quality and appropriate care on a temporary basis.
* Enabling patients to stay in their own homes.
That the Visiting Nurse Manager, who is a Christian Science Nurse, who is listed in the Christian Science Journal, oversees the care of patients. To comply with the requirements of the Domiciliary Care Regulations 2002.
