Vision Homes domiciliary care is based at Ouzel Drive on the outskirts of Bradford. It is a purpose built unit, which consists of four fully self contained, specially adapted, ground floor flats. The flats belong to the Hanover Housing Association and each service user has a tenancy agreement. The care package is purchased from Vision Homes Association by the local authority and the agreement is for the unit to be staffed 24 hours a day. There are generally three staff and the manager available during the day. At night there is one wakeful member of staff on duty, one sleeping in and somebody ‘on call’. Each flat is linked to the Hanover lifeline system and service users wear the lifeline pendants. There is also an ‘on call’ rota via Vision Homes that staff and service users can have use of at any time. The agency provides care to four service users under the age of 65 who are recovering from head injury or with learning disabilities.
