Fairways is a home registered for twelve people with a learning disability, some of whom have complex needs. The manager Anne Hall, who has been at the home since 1998 and has worked in the care sector for 18 years.

Anne says: "Fairways has a really homely atmosphere - all our service users have lived here for a number of years and thrive in the warm, supportive environment.

The home has a high staff ratio providing support and nurturing to the residents. Fairways has some of East Riding's most challenging people, all of whom are now settled and living harmoniously with others.

Varied activities on offer at the home include art, dance and computer studies in the "art" room, gardening in the large enclosed back area, an annual subsidised holiday. Service users are actively encouraged to be part of the community - enjoying aqua fit, going to the gym, horse riding and local walks, as well as many organised trips in the home's own mini bus.
