Following the implementation of The Care Standards Act 2000, and the Domiciliary Care Agencies Regulations 2002, St. Monica Trust Care and Support Services underwent a registration process in order to become registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). The manager is Jeanette Iles and the responsible individual (RI), Geoff Thomas. The St. Monica Trust is a long established Bristol based charity. The care and support team based at Westbury Fields provides care and support services to older people or people with a physical disability over the age of 55 years.

The statement of Purpose for the service states, 'There are no restrictions on who can use the service; it is open to all people regardless of their gender, religious persuasion, disability, ethnic origin or sexual orientation'. The care is provided in the person’s own home after an initial assessment has taken place to establish whether individual needs can be met. If the referral is made by the Social Services department they will carry out the initial assessment of need; if this is not in place, the agency will carry out the assessment with support of the individual, family members and other healthcare professionals if needed. The team offers a service to tenants living in the retirement village and will soon expand to the wider community.
