Beech Street Home Care Service is one of three small domiciliary care agencies owned and run by South Tyneside Council’s Social Care and Health Directorate. Although the agency’s office is located in the same premises as Beech Street Care Home, it is managed and operated separately. The team from Beech Street provide assistance with personal care, domestic help and general support services to approximately 150 adults living in the Jarrow and Hebburn area. The Commission for Social Care Inspection regulates only the personal care element of the service.

Beech Street publishes a regularly updated statement of purpose and service user guide, and these are available in a range of accessible formats. They are provided to prospective service users and their families and supporters to help them choose whether the domiciliary agency can meet their needs, and include all of the information necessary to ensure people are made aware of what they can expect from the service.

The current maximum hourly rate for the service is £8.50 per hour, although not all service users have to pay this amount. The actual cost payable by individual users is dependent upon the outcome of a financial assessment carried out by the Council prior to commencement of service.
