Gloucestershire Social Services Department (SSD) operates Severnleigh Domiciliary Care Agency (DCA). The service offers provision to people with a learning disability living in the Lydney area and is based at Severnleigh Residential Care Home. The philosophy of the service is to support service users 'in development of a more independent lifestyle'. To support this ethic, service users have tenancies and are currently funded through the Supporting People Scheme. At present the service provides support to three tenants living in Flat one and three tenants living in Flat two at Severnleigh. Two tenants are also supported in a house in Lydney. Severnleigh Domiciliary Care Service is yet to appoint a registered manager. Accurate information about fees were provided at the time of inspection and range from £7 to £50 per week much of the fees can be topped up with housing benefit and is based on needs assessments. Weekly fees are agreed during admission to reflect individual need(s).
