The Aims and Objectives of Select Medicare :

The main purpose of Select Medicare is to provide personal care and practical assistance with essential or useful tasks in order to help maintain the people who use the service in the comfort of their own home. The aim is to keep service users as independent as possible, for as long as practically possible, taking into consideration the service user's quality of life and personal choice. It aims to provide confident, competent, trained, home care workers of high calibre to the people who use our service. Primarily the area served is Essex and occasionally work will be taken from other areas.

Service users are either referred to Select Medicare by the Social Services or private individuals can refer themselves direct if they are paying for their own care.

Objectives of the Service :

* To provide a comprehensive domiciliary care service which aims to offer quality of life for people receiving the service.
* To offer a reliable service, 365/366 days a year, with an out of hours helpline for service users and staff seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
* To recruit staff who are competent and comply with legal requirements.
* To brief staff of high calibre and who are honest and trustworthy.
* To ensure staff are properly insured and operate safe working practices.
* To offer a continuity of care and have a system in place to advise service users and care workers of any changes in the service to be offered.
