 About Borough Care Ltd  
Borough Care Limited is a not-for-profit organisation based in Stockport, providing safe and comfortable Care Homes for older and disabled people.

The Company won the prestigious Duke of Westminster's Award for Business Excellence in the not-for-profit sector in 2000.

Borough Care was set up in 1993 as an Industrial and Provident Society with charitable status, and took over the management of 8 Stockport homes in April 1994. The homes were owned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC), and had previously been run by Tameside Enterprises Limited, and before that, by Stockport Council.

Borough Care now has 12 homes throughout the Stockport area. Most of the homes provide facilities for people with more serious physical and mental disabilities.

Home not only provides a permanent home, but many homes offer short stays to help people over a difficult period, for example, when carers are unwell or on holiday. Some homes are contracted with local Health and Social Services to provide Intermediate Care services, which prevent unnecessary hospital admission, or facilitate discharge.
