About ASRA Greater London Housing Association

ASRA is a ‘not for profit’ organisation with over 25 years’ experience in providing affordable housing and building sustainable communities.

Formed in 1984, ASRA is one of the great success stories to emerge from the BME (black and minority ethnic) housing movement. We build and manage good quality accommodation to rent, buy, or part-rent/part-buy through shared ownership. Our homes and services meet the very varied needs of single people, couples and families of all ages across Greater London and the south east.

Around 20% of our homes provide specialist accommodation such as sheltered housing and refuges for people from Asian backgrounds; the remaining 80% are for people from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds. ASRA properties include well-maintained ‘general needs’ housing, accommodation for key workers, retirement flats and bungalows, and supported housing for people with specific care or support needs, enabling them to live independently. We also help regenerate communities, creating places that people are proud of, and choose to live and invest in.
