Age Concern North Tyneside is a member of the Age Concern federation. Age Concern is a federation of over 400 independent charities which share the same name, values and standards. All members are expected to report, every five years, against the federation Foundation Standard and its Expectations and submit a self-audit report which is followed by an Inspection, with outcomes reported to the Membership & Standards Committee of the federation.

The Care Agency was established in 1972 as a registered charity and became a Company Limited by Guarantee in 1987. It has a strong Board of 12 Trustees and 3 co-optees who meet bi-monthly and govern and manage the charity by dividing into three sub committees: Executive, Finance and Audit & Review.

Our mission is “to promote the well-being of all older people and make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience”.

We believe :
* In a society where all older people have the right to make decisions about their lives and the power to influence decisions that affect them
* That older people should be recognised for the positive contributions they make to their community.
* That the diversity of our ageing population should be recognised at every level of our society. Differing experiences, views and preferences of individual older people should be valued and reflected in the services and products offered to them.

Our Aims & Objectives :

Age Concern North Tyneside has identified 5 key aims and intends to achieve these within the lifetime of the Strategic Plan. They address major challenges that we will face over the next three years; they are aims we want our staff to be aware of and champion; and will be communicated to internal and external stakeholders. We will measure our success against our set outputs.

* To promote the voice of older people;
* To enable older people in all their diversity to make more of life;
* To encourage our local communities to value the life experiences and contribution of older people;
* To influence policy makers at all levels on matters relating to older people;
* To achieve quality standards and maintain financial viability. - Send Email
