Age Concern Kensington & Chelsea is one of the major providers of services for older people in this ethnically diverse area of West London. The geographic "patch" covered by the organisation runs from North Kensington - home of the largest Carnival in Europe and Portobello Road with its antique stalls, south to Chelsea with its fashion stores, Chelsea Pensioners in winter scarlet and of course the Flower Show. Ninety-two languages are spoken within this the most densely-populated Inner London Borough and this is reflected within both the staff and the older people with whom we work.

The organisation is a member of the Age Concern Federation and was founded 30 years ago to improve the quality of life of older residents living in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea through the provision of support and services. Age Concern Kensington & Chelsea is an independent organisation with its own charity and company registration. A Board of Trustees are elected annually by our membership at the AGM and a staff team of about twenty-seven paid workers are responsible for delivering a range of services. We are also assisted by up to seventy volunteers, allowing us to spread both our fiscal and human resources to the best effect.
